Drinking water: World Water Day
Drinking water: 22nd March, World Water Day
The World Water Day is an international day established by the United Nations in 1993.
More than 1 billion people still do not have access to drinking water. A large amount of them live in remote rural areas. In 2016, half of world’s population lives in rural areas.
In 2010, the United Nations reasserted the right to drinking water as part of fundamental rights for all humans.
This year, the topic chosen by the United Nations is “water and jobs”.
Day after day, Vergnet Hydro‘s teams commit to bringing sustainable solutions of drinking water supply systems to rural and remote areas’inhabitants.
Many projects are planned to meet the need in drinking water of the people living in rural areas.
