Difficult security situation and tight lead times
The Togolese Ministry of Water, Rural Equipment and Village Water Systems has selected VERGNET HYDRO and its local partner with the supply and installation of 300 manual pumps to provide 120,000 residents in the northern Togo regions of Savanes and Kara with water. “The security situation is difficult in these areas. And project lead times are tight (10 months). We are therefore especially proud that the authorities in Togo have selected our partnership to rise to this challenge,” Alexis FRIEDMANN, VERGNET HYDRO’s Area Sales Manager in Togo is pleased to announce.
Training for 50 repair technicians for a long term maintenance
VERGNET HYDRO will supply 300 HYDRO INDIA manual pumps, plus tools and spare parts, and will then provide training for 50 repair technicians who will be in charge of the maintenance of these water distribution points over the long term. Its local partner will take care of all the work.
Funded by the AGENCE FRANÇAISE DE DEVELOPPEMENT (AFD), the project (worth 756 million FCFA or €1.1 million) is part of the second component of the Project for the Improvement of Health Conditions in Schools and Rural Areas (known as PASSCO 2) for the Savanes and Kara regions. This consortium previously worked together on the first component of the project (PASSCO 1 in 2016), which enabled access to drinking water for 70,000 residents in the Savanes region.
